Why didn't anyone tell me that I'm engaged?!

funny story:

a couple months ago, i wanted to browse The Knot's website, but you have to be signed up in order to do that. therefore, i signed up (because it's free!) and suddenly have begun receiving all kinds of postcards in the mail from various wedding-related business congratulating me on my engagement!

such as the one i received from a photographer named brooke:
"congratulations on your engagement! happy planning! xoxo, Brooke"

i'm sure you can imagine my excitement when i checked my mail and was informed that i had gotten engaged!!

sherbear + al pal 4e

last night i went up to bloomington to do dinner and shopping with alex, and we had a such a good time! we had dinner at McAllister's, and it was amazing. it was nice to take a break from our usual burgers and fries to have some healthier food that was definitely just as good.

then we headed to the mall so i could do some shopping for new work clothes, and i actually had some luck this week! i got a red top, a yellow top (a color i've been wanting forever!!), white top, and a royal blue pencil skirt that is to die for.

then we had a cute boy help us put antifreeze in my car, and i was home by 10 to watch Blue Bloods. and let me tell you, i always love Donnie Wahlberg, but last night's rerun had me swooning.

in bed by 11:30, and up by 8 this morning.
i tried to sleep in, but my body is used to getting up for work now. is this what being a grown up is like?

dress like a professional week

i deemed this past work week "dress like a professional week", and i decided to really run with the whole "pencil skirt" idea.
it was only a 4 day work week, due to the monday being the 4th, so these are the 4 outfits i rocked:

Can you say MIA?

i have this terrible habit of not blogging when i have nothing to blog about, and then still not blogging when i have tons to blog about because i'm just too lazy.

so, just a little update on me i suppose..

after almost 2 months of searching, i was so fortunate to be set up with a job interview at a local insurance agency. i went in for my interview, and it was such the perfect fit! they offered me a job as their new receptionist, and i gladly accepted and began work the next day. there has been so much to learn, because i know nothing about insurance. i think i have finally figured out the multi-line phone system, and the mail gets easier every day. i feel so lucky to have gotten this job, and even with all the challenges it's presented, i'm loving it!

in other news, my letters from austen are the best part of my week. i absolutely love the pictures he just sent me..

boyfriend is so cute.

he recently started writing his letters in cursive, and after writing my full name he added "(your last name in cursive sucks, btw.)" i told him that could easily be solved by changing it to his. he liked that idea.
