day thirty-two

a picture of a crazy night.

call it cliche', but my junior prom was a crazy night. (almost as crazy as they get for me.. i'm not one to have many crazy nights.. and any other ones i have, i don't have pictures of.)

i had pretty great night, but my best friend at the time was having all kinds of boy drama.
he said this, she said that.. blah blah blah.

but i had my first kiss with LD that night. right at the end of the very last slow song. and he asked me to be his girlfriend the next day.

so, crazy wild? maybe not. but crazy good? definitely!

day thirty-one

a picture of a tradition you have.

this is more of a habit than a tradition, and it's really one i should break. whenever i start reading a book, i read the first chapter or two, then i flip to the back and read the last page. i don't know why i do this.. maybe because i want to be warned if it's going to have a bad ending.

i'm a weirdo.

catching fire

i just finished the 2nd book in the Hunger Games trilogy, and let me tell you.. AMAZING!

i'm completely on the edge of my seat, and i can't wait to start the 3rd book. and let me just say, i am in love with Peeta.

the hunger games

when it comes to books, i'm sort of picky. but when i find a book i love, i really really love it.

there are several novels i've read and really enjoyed, but i LOVE finding a great series. i grew up as a huge Harry Potter fan from the time i was 8 years old (before they started making the movies and everyone else started loving it too), and then in high school i found the Twilight Saga (i'll admit, i was a little late to that party.)

recently i've become hooked on Suzanne Collins' Hunger Games trilogy.

book 1 is The Hunger Games, and it's one of those stories that's kind of hard to explain, but i'll try my best without giving away too much of the story.

it's set in the ruins of North America which have now become 12 districts all ruled by a Capitol city. every year each district is required to send 2 tributes between the ages of 12 and 18 to an arena where they're forced to compete in the annual Hunger Games. they have to kill each other off until only 1 tribute remains and becomes the victor.

this book was awesome. i loved it.

they're making it into a movie, too.. so i can't wait for that! fingers crossed that Kristen Stewart doesn't get cast as Katniss.. because if she does, she'll ruin it just like she did Twilight.

day twenty-seven

a picture of you and a family member.

yes, realize this is 2 family members. but i love this picture of me and my brothers!
it was taken a year and a half ago when i got my senior pictures done (a year late.)

day twenty-six

a picture of something that means a lot to you.

i have a pretty big extended family. my dad is 1 child of 3, and my mom is 1 of 6. between both sides, i have 2 grandfathers, 4 grandmothers, 6 aunts, 5 uncles, 21 cousins (1st cousins), a mom, a dad, 2 brothers, and a dog.

i'm extremely close with the majority of my aunts and uncles, and very very close with a handful of my cousins. my family is the only group that lives in indiana, though. we rely a lot on facebook and texting to stay in touch, but for the most part we're pretty good about it.

when i was little, i wanted nothing more than to be best friends with my cousin malachi. he's 2 years older, and when you're young that seems like a lot. but through the years our relationship has evolved from me annoying the crap out of him, him tying me to the swing set on thanksgiving, and him making fun of every little thing i do to actually enjoying each other's company, making our own action movies with all our brothers and sisters, and him taking a major detour all the way to indiana during his drive home to virginia from texas just so he could attend my high school graduation. and that meant the world to me.

during that week he spent with us, we grew even closer than we already were, and had the best time staying up until 6am talking about anything and everything.

i hate to break out into a chorus of "wind beneath my wings" here, but he probably has no idea that he's always been my hero.

he's more like an older brother than a cousin, but either way i'm so lucky to have him in my family.

(ages 18 & 20 when that picture was taken)

i successfully avoided teenage pregnancy

that's right, folks! yours truly is no longer a teen.
friday, february 11, 2011 was my 20th birthday. i still can't even believe it!

normally i would've taken tons of pictures to document it, but unfortunately i was extremely sick and not feeling up for that. i did enjoy shopping in the morning with my mom and my best friend terra. i got a few things from American Eagle that i'm totally head-over-heels for, and i got some FANTASTIC boots and flats from Journeys.

after shopping we went to lunch at Panera, and then i came home and took a bath to try to make myself feel better. after that and a short little snooze, i got ready and terra picked me up and we met my other best friend alex at the movie theater where we saw No Strings Attached. HILARIOUS! ashton kutcher was to die for in that movie.. simply adorable.

then we went to dinner at cheeseburger in paradise.

my head hit the pillow soon after i got home, and i spent the rest of the weekend on the couch with a blanket being completely silent. this was the first time in my whole life that i LITERALLY had no voice. i talked for a total of less than 5 minutes on saturday. which is a record for me. i've never gone that long without talking in my whole entire life. but it served me well, and i got my voice back!

with the exception of being so sick, it was a great birthday!

enchanted

this is way too adorable to keep to myself..

i was on twitter earlier and Blair Fowler (fellow blogger and youtube beauty guru "juicystar07") tweeted the link to the most precious thing EVER.

i love taylor swift, and i love her newest album. one of my favorite tracks is Enchanted, and i have frequently played it on repeat. i always try to figure out which celebrity each song of hers is about, and i had no idea that Enchanted was about Adam Young from Owl City.

anyway, he did his own rendition of the song in the form of a reply. i am absolutely in love with it! and, i know i'm not taylor swift, but the last 20 seconds of it make my heart go pitter-patter.

to read his letter to taylor and listen to Adam Young's "Enchanted" CLICK HERE

day twenty-five

a picture of your day.

i spent my valentine's day at work.
lucky me!

disclaimer: we're not allowed to take pictures in our store, so i assume we're not allowed to take pictures OF our store, either. so, this is not my actual store, i found this on google. but it's still aero, so it still counts.

day twenty-four

a picture of something you wish you could change.

i wish i had enough money to give my parents so they could fix everything that needs to be fixed around the house. it needs some serious home improvement.

because, unfortunately everything is falling apart.

day twenty-three

a picture of your favorite book.

all of the harry potter books are my absolute favorites, but i chose the goblet of fire because it's the one i've read the most.

5 times!

day twenty-two

a picture of something you wish you were better at.

ah, if only i could really really dance..

day twenty-one

a picture of something you wish you could forget.

i'm not sure how i feel about regrets. sometimes i think you shouldn't have any, but other times i think regrets help make us who we are. that being said, if i have any regrets, this is a picture of one of my biggest ones.

when i was sixteen years old, attended my 3rd youth conference with my church. it involved a 4 day trip to palmyra, new york. i had recently been dumped by my first real boyfriend (who was also going on the trip) and instead of enjoying an awesome trip with my best friend terra, i let the whole weekend be controlled by stephen because i wanted to get back together. not to mention, i only enjoyed one day with the cute guy that was crushing on me, because it took me the first three days to figure out i'd have more fun with him than stephen.

this may be the one instance in my life that i would go back and change if i could.

the 1st picture is the boy who ruined the weekend, the 2nd picture is the boy who salvaged what was left of it.

(ps- YIKES! i've slacked the past few days. i have lots of pictures to catch up on. oops!)

day twenty

a picture of a place you'd like to travel.

i would love to visit ireland.

day nineteen

a picture of you when you were little.

i believe i was 3 years old in this picture. or maybe 2.
man, i loved that scrunchie..

day eighteen

a picture of your biggest insecurity.

my biggest insecurity is my lack of self-confidence. it's hard to explain, but i guess you could say i tend to second guess myself. and i care too much about what other people think.

a goal i have for this year is to learn to be completely comfortable in my own skin.

day seventeen

a picture of something that has made an impact on your life recently.

i recently signed my lease for an apartment starting in may.
it feels real now, i'm moving!

i get by with a little help from my friends..

don't be deceived by this title.. i'm not really a fan of the song or anything. i just thought it was fitting. last night i went to cheeseburger in paradise with some friends to have some good food and watch some karaoke.

we had such a good time!
none of us sang, but it was definitely entertaining, and maybe next time i'll work up the nerve to take the stage ;)

also, i'm aware that the flash in most of the pictures is so bright that you can't really see our faces.
BUT LOOK HOW LONG MY HAIR IS GETTING!

day sixteen

a picture of someone who inspires you.

that would most definitely be Naomi Davis.
also known as Taza.

i love her style, her blog, her tweets, the love she has for life and everything around her.. i just love her to death.

she inspires me to be everything i want to be.

to visit her blog click here.

day fifteen

a picture of something you want to do before you die.

i want to see something on broadway.
i have to!

and i would like to have dinner at Bobby Flay's Mesa Grill first.
:)

day fourteen

a picture of someone you could never imagine your life without.

i don't know who made this 60 day challenge up, but how do they expect me to pick one person? there are a few large handfuls of people i cannot imagine my life without! all of my family, all of my close friends, my dog, the man i'm in love with, etc. that being said, i'm going to pick the one that i've been thinking the most about lately.

and that's my little cousin emilyne.

emmie was born when i was 10, and we have never lived in the same state. we only get to see each other when we visit family in virginia or when they visit us in indiana. when i was younger, our trips were a lot more frequent than they are now, and from the time emmie was born we were just drawn to each other.

don't get me wrong, because i do want kids someday, and i do think babies are cute, but the crying annoys the crap out of me. the screaming and not being able to make it stop. but it was different with emmie. out of all the babies i've ever been around, she is my favorite. you could just look at us and see the bond. she was never fussy if i was holding her, and most of the time i the only one who could get her to sleep.

then she grew into a toddler, and began growing into my mini-me. literally. she's so much like what everyone says i was like at her age. that probably has a lot to do with the fact that i'm so much like HER mother, my aunt becca.

we both have birthdays coming up, and we'll be turning 20 and 10 this year.
in the last decade we've grown not only to be close as cousins, but practically sisters.
and i love her more than words.

(i know the whole 60 day challenge thing is supposed to be like "one picture a day", but i think this one is special, so that's why i put more.)

(pictures from summer 2010, video from summer 2007)

Wednesday, February 2, 2011

day thirteen

a picture of your favorite band or artist.

TAYLOR SWIFT!

i'm sure there are hundreds of artists in the world that hope and pray at night that people will listen to their music and just "get" them. understand them. know where they're coming from.

when i listen to taylor swift, all i can think to myself is this..

she's the one that gets me.

day twelve

a picture of something you love.

not only do i LOVE makeup in general, i especially LOVE mark. makeup!

i've wanted to be an esthetician specializing in makeup artistry ever since my senior year of high school. i plan to start school this July at the SkinScience Institute Utah County campus in Orem, UT. i love finding and trying new products, and last summer a girl i know from my ward at church became a mark. cosmetics Rep. i'd heard of mark. before because of Lauren Conrad, and i decided to check out the website. i ended up ordering some stuff and ended up absolutely loving it! before i knew it, i was ordering something almost every couple weeks. that's when i decided to become a mark. Rep, too!

although i don't have a fantastic client base where i live right now, i hope that when i move out to Utah this summer things will really pick up!

visit my eBoutique and check out the whole mark. collection:
